Vintage rose garden, summer eve

Since I posted about late Autumn in the rose gardens previously, and it has been a year since first taking photos there, I thought I would post a few from other seasons, starting with last summer!

One vintage eve a year ago, in the rose gardens, at wonderful mad, running about, two year old pace...

And a size comparison reference. I don't think my little one's tiny size always translates in photos of just her, but as you can see, she is teeny!

Amazing inspiration: Wonderland ~ Yeondoo Jung

I love children's drawings, and I enjoy whimsical photographs, so I can't help but love the absoutely amazing children's drawing-inspired Wonderland series, by Yeondoo Jung, where children's drawings are recreated into whimsical, wonderful, (and of course colourful!) photographs, with real people, the most clever details, and a wonderful childlike sense of fun!

The full series is here, Wonderland, 2005, by Yeondoo Jung.

Thank you so much, Yeondoo, for allowing me to reproduce some of your amazing images here!

Kiss by the Hotel de Ville ~ Robert Doisneau

In honour of love, and photography, hehe, I wanted to feature this favourite Robert Doisneau photograph, from mid-last century Paris,

Kiss by the Hotel de Ville, 1950

I love great photography from this era!
Here's another from Robert Doisneau,
which I find so whimsical and perfect...

I also love his street photography of children in Paris, which, after his wikipedia page says this*, I must find out more about!

* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Doisneau
"Doisneau's work gives unusual prominence and dignity to children's street culture (wiki link below); returning again and again to the theme of children at play in the city, unfettered by parents. His work treats their play with seriousness and respect. In his honour, and owing to this, there are several Ecole Primaire (Primary Schools) named after him. An example is at Veretz (Indre-et-Loire)."

Baby dress

Baby dress drying in the wind in sunset light. xo

My little one is getting older and the baby days of my girl are ending,
baby and little toddler things are being forgotten, finished or put away, for the little big two-ish and three-ish preschooler days ahead.
I wanted to try and capture some of these nearly gone baby things, like the little classic baby dresses that added a bit of fairytale and imaginary play to our mornings and afternoons, or a bit of whimsy with her favourite stripe tights. She still wears this baby dress though! Because she is tiny still. :) But the dear little stripe tights are outgrown. :(

*p.s. I wrote this and saved to drafts last Spring. She is younger than that again here, two and a quarter. x
