This dress, a handed down gift from a friend, added to the dress up box. She likes to wear it over her black tutu, and back to front, especially to see the bow.
(and the idea behind the actual bouncy ball commercial :D)
As sold in limited edition prints via LUMAS, photographs by Peter Funch taken during production of the commercial in which 250,000 or so bouncy balls were let free down a San Francisco street. I never remember who the ad was for (sorry!) but I always remember the song, and the idea, which I love! So childlike, and fun.
I love the whimsical, creative, and wonderfully childlike style of MAJA and JU JU, two books about kids and imaginative, creative things to make and wear, and from the simplest household material and treasures on hand or found.
It reminds me so much of the fun and play my children and I love to experience and create as well, and something of which we need to do more of lately. :)
The miniature children in the Ju Ju photos are so sweet :)
And this fabulous kid-imaginative room reminds me of the fabric strip baby amusement tactile hanging ornaments we used to make and hang too. This room also looks a little 'Where the wild things are' to me. :)
These are mostly candid photos which I adore, imperfections and all maybe even more
A stick and a leaf. What more do you need?

I love these little nature walks in 'the forest', by the park. Here is another little forest fairytale, at half this age again, eighteen months, which feels like both yesterday and a world away from today.
It's the beginning of Autumn here. :) I can't wait for a good day to go out and find it properly! I am so far behind on posting about last year's seasons in the rose gardens though. Here is Winter, mostly from impromptu mini-clothing photoshoots...

The best part about the sun setting so early in Winter is that it is beautiful timing to finish school for the afternoon, walk from there to the rose gardens, play in the park for two hours in wonderful light, and then enjoy the setting sun as we walk home again.
going home
This was also the evening we lost one of the bears... at the end of this walk through across the field! My young son remembered a few blocks away and we went back to rescue the bears, which he promptly wrote about in the little journal he had in his pocket. ♥
(The bears were found on the stone pathway. Can you tell? <3)
