I am sorry I have been a little quiet on my blog this week.
Have projects, ideas and dreams, news to share soon,
as well as time to reflect.
I love the curate gallery feature on flickr, and I thought I'd share here links to some of my favourite flickr images, much admired!

La Petite magazine! Feature and cover.
I am very pleased to be a part of the debut issue of La Petite magazine, both in a photo story feature, and on the cover as well!
Amélie, my garden child
Amélie also liked seeing herself in a grand frame on the feature page. ♥
(... as well as in the photo story!)
Here is a peek at the first page of the Amélie Alice photo story:
... of which you can read La Petite for more.

a whimsical wish list
~ a {photography inclined} shopping wish list for my little girl ~
♥ more stripe tights
(she's outgrown them, and this just cannot do!)
♥ and rosebud hairties
(because hairties always get lost*...)
♥ natural coloured or vintage winter woollens or coats (now it's getting colder)
♥ and new classic style red shoes (as her beloved old ones are finally coming apart)
* These hairties were from Pumpkin Patch, by the way, who no longer have them.
We have lost one and the little roses on the second one have unravelled.
I see how they're made though! I thought about making some new ones myself but I'm not sure if my fingers can create such tiny intricate roses from tiny ribbon. Ha.

lensbaby teddy bear play
Because I am feeling nostalgic, here are some sweet afternoon images, from when my youngest child was seventeen months old.
They are all taken with a lensbaby, which is a very fun, soft blur, selective focus dreamy lens, i.e. a little piece of magic.
sweet
funny girl
conversation
here is a little photo story i wrote up a year or so ago, for her brother...
bedbugs ~ a teeny story
arrgh!
(This one makes her brothers laugh. Heh.)
{pillowfight}
Where are you going?
come back!
any questions?
Lensbaby.com
I have a lensbaby 2.0, which is similar to the current 'lensbaby muse'.
Mostly I adore lensbabies for thinking a little differently, playing, forgetting technically perfect and just having fun with photography. They are just so fun to use and see things in a different way!
More lensbaby posts, because my LinkWithin seems to not find them...??

What do children wear around the globe
I really like this feature by the wonderful kid's design blog, Bloesem kids, What do children wear around the globe, where people describe what some of the kids wear in their city.
The above designs are from MarMar in Copehagan, Denmark, and the owner describes the children's clothing on the street near her, and the second story in this post is from Hong Kong. Go see it!
I also enjoy reading about the kids in their city because the kids in mine dress, let's say, kind of boring and trademark this and that, and same as everyone else, which is mainly the average local clothing shop's fault. Their lack of range, imagination and stereotypes drive me nuts. Ha! This is also another reason we like finding treasures in second hand clothing shops. The variety and colour is a lot richer than the general clothing shop's 'everything must be pink for girls' etc cliches.

René Maltête, French photographer ~ inspiration, humour!
Because looking up one mid-20th century French photographer leads to another, via this first so very cute photo...
René Maltête , French photographer, (1930-2000), found humour in everyday life. :)
René Maltête
p.s. argh you would think my LinkWithin would link to the others but until (or unless?) it does, here, French photographers

Willy Ronis, Paris photographer, 1910-2009
You may have noticed my affection and awe for early and mid-twentieth century street photographers, ha, curiously also often from Paris, and especially Robert Doisneau and Henri-Cartier Bresson.
Well, today I have been admiring the work of Willy Ronis...
Place Vendome, Paris, 1947
... who has worked with the same agency as Doisneau, and been in exhibitions with Cartier-Bresson, and was also apparantly the first French photographer to work for Life Magazine, the B&W photography books of which I used to seek out and read in libraries when I was at school, one of my first photographic influences, admiring photographs of life like this one...
Le Petit Parisien, 1952
Willy Ronis was born in 1910 and died last year in September. His street photographs of Paris and portraits of French couples are warm and endearing, and his nude studies are beautiful.
I greatly admire the way he captures ordinarly life, and with kindness, much like Robert Doisneau.
“It is my contemporaries who most interest me, ordinary people with ordinary lives,”
“I have never sought out the extraordinary or the scoop. I looked at what complemented my life. The beauty of the ordinary was always the source of my greatest emotions.”
~ Willy Ronis, quotes to the New York Times, 2005
Carrefour Sevres-Babylone, Paris, 1948

Tim Walker, London photographer
I have had quite the intense week personally, which photographically means first of all at times like these I withdraw from taking photographs for a while, and secondly, when feeling a little better, I seek solace in reading, etc, but also browsing art and photography.
One image that cheered me up yesterday was this one...
oh how I would love to stay (or visit) there,
with balloons! Of course. :)
The image is by Tim Walker, whom I have just discovered, thanks to the above image, and who is a stunning fashion photographer, e.g...
The image to the right also reminds me of a dear friend, who would create things like this, on a different level. It reminds me of her hallway tree, and by the way, this is the hallway of a house that the first photo here reminds me of, and she is also just the sort of wonderful, whimsical friend who would adorn her house with balloons as well.
Well. I am now officially cheered up. :)

Tea Pony, vintage children's designer love, and a little Belle and Boo
I have been meaning to share one of my children's clothing industry favourites, the wonderful, vintage inspired Tea Pony.
Australian made and so sweet, Tea Pony has such lovely vintage inspired, unique and imaginative designs. x
Another favourite Tea Pony creation is the Belle and Boo 'Lost' dress,
... a collaboration with the lovely UK artist, Belle and Boo, the creator of some very sweet children's illustrations.
Here is the Belle & Boo print 'found'...
found
I also heard of Belle and Boo from child photography friends, via her very special illustrations for the beautiful Ava.
... and Ava's mother Sheye is such a wonderful soul, a beautiful children's photographer and writer.
