This dress, a handed down gift from a friend, added to the dress up box. She likes to wear it over her black tutu, and back to front, especially to see the bow.

Winter Solstice, mist meeting

All day mist,
and one little girl meeting one little big brother...
in the distance, also with outstretched arms.

Nostalgia and light

point
I miss those baby days,
those teeny toddler years,
our magic rose garden light
magic rose gardens

And even our household light, just the tiniest slivers of sunset peeking through neighbourhood houses, just enough to play in before bedtime on a late Spring or summer eve.

Our street and home then was not that photogenic or interesting, but it did have little glimpses of great sunset light! I would much rather a field or beach or rose gardens for an evening backdrop, but if I obscured the background in that street just so, and waited for the light and her to play together in just the right spot, it was perfect.

Hagley Park, winter stories

*I have this little sister Amélie. She is small and very funny.

I have this little sister Amélie. She is small and very funny.

Pink milk for you if you know the above reference.
Little big brother was at school when we were here at the park, but that* is what he says about her. Especially lately! And I do think my little girl is especially looking like Lola here.

She is exactly like Lola at present, or at least very similar, including her voice and the things she says, of course. Poor Lili. Lucky me. :)

Gingerbread happiness because the cafe at the park was open again.

These delicious and handsome gingerbread people are made by Molly Woppy. You can also order them online. Yum! (But only if in New Zealand)

Lake Tekapo love!

Lake Tekapo, aka my new favourite place in the world, is a stunning, turquoise blue glacier-fed, high country lake in the Mackenzie District, Canterbury, New Zealand.
Best place to be and explore on a perfect, still Autumn day. x
